April Favourites

Hullo Guy's and Girl's,

I thought this month, I'd do an April favourites blog about all the stuff I've been liking recently. I've tried to make it varied, so let's get stuck in shall we? (In no particular order..)

First on my list of favourite things are, these lovely mint plimsoles courtesy of primark for £3.00 For that price you can't really go wrong, they come in a range of different pastel/candy colours perfect for this time of year. I've been wearing these beauties for about 4 weeks & there still in pretty good condition.

Second on my list of favourite things are both pairs, of my didn't break the bank sunnies. Because I couldn't choose between them, and I love them both equally. The first pair (pictured below) are from New Look, they are the Tortoiseshell Retro Frame Sunglasses £2.99.
The second pair are my Jewelled aviators, again from Primark, £3.00
All I can say is, everyone looks good in aviators.
My favourite beverage, this month (weird I know!) Now the sun is out my love/need for iced coffee, has returned, with a vengeance. I wouldn't say I'm a big coffee drinker. I enjoy things with a hint, of coffee, hence the reason I am partial to a Starbucks, I alway like there seasonal coffee's as it's always paired with something that takes the edge off.
I've been enjoying these caffionata Latte things, that you can pick up in all supermarkets. Especially the vanilla & caramel one's.

I've had this product for a while,I brought it shortly after it was released. But I've only recently been able to enjoy using it. It's the Naked Flushed blush pallet. From Urban Decay. Now, I don't know about you, but I used to be a bit afraid of blushers, mainly sticking to bronzers. Due to the fact I always had a little redness in the check area. But this really is good, especially if you're new to the cheek biz. As it comes with blusher, highlighter & bronzer all for £20 & if it's anything like the Naked eyeshadow pallet, it will last you ages. It defiantly helps you to achieve that ''spring glow" that everyone's after.

I'm not much of a cinema goer these day's as I live on a budget & I find buying a dvd, is cheaper then going to the cinema these day's, (These days, cause I'm ancient. ;]) Anyway this film completely bypassed me, until a friend recommended it, that is.

The perks of being a Wallflower; based on  the book.Truly is a heart moving, coming of age, film that chart's the wonderful highs and crashing low's of growing up. I must admit I didn't have high hopes for this film, but it completely surpassed any of my expectations & now I highly recommend it.

The last 2 products on my April favourites list are both bath/shower products so I thought why not, kill 2 bird's with 1 stone & all that jazz. As I use these together, include them together.
First, Radox Moisturise with chamomile & Jojoba oil, I will start by saying I don't always use Radox, its just that it was on offer, so when in rome & that. I really like this, mainly the smell I find is calming yet fresh, it lathers really well, a little bit goes a long way and I do find after using it my skin does feel softer.
And now for the Dove Silky nourishment shimmer effect body lotion.
I got this as a part of a christmas gift, but haven't got round to using it until recently. Again I wouldn't say Dove, is a natural go-to product for me. But I've been enjoying this along with the radox, they seem to complement each other, nicely.
Now that it's started to get warmer I've been wanting to moisturise, but with a moisturiser that has a lighter feel to it. A posed to the heaver more intense creamy moisturiser that I use during the winter months.
This has been perfect. It has a thinner consistency but sinks into the skin nicely without leaving any residue or horrible artificial smell. The only downside, is there does't seem to be 'shimmer' quality too it.

Hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know if you guy's try any of these products and let me know what you think.

A Spring sort out. Part 1

Hey Guys & Girls,

So Spring is here…. And we all know what that means.

It's time for a sort out!

I thought how better then to set myself, some online goal's, so then I might actually stick to them.

My 2 little goal's this spring are:

1) Get back on the healthy wagon.

2) Have a de-clutter & a sort out. I'm talking clothes and make up, & anything else I don't need.

1) Now I stated eating healthily last year, round about May time. I felt I was doing really well. Even all the way through christmas, I said no, to the rose's tin passed my way several times. (what an achievement!) AND then the snow came, for what seemed like months.. (exaggerating I know.)
I found myself, craving things to fill me up, and the need for yummy marshmallow's to go with the hot chocolate. we've all been there right? And then I felt like all the little rules I'd set myself went out the window.
So here goes, for my take 2. I'm just talking about, cutting down on the carbs, replacing them with whole wheat versions, upping the fruits & veggies. And trying to kick my urge for the sugar rush I so desirer, right in the teeth.

2)  Here goes for number goal number 2. I thought it was time for a spring clean and a de-clutter and probably a re-shuffle too. I've been putting it off for a while. But I know deep down, I will feel throughly cleansed after I have a sort out.

So I thought it might be fun, to post some of my healthy meal idea's on here every, once and a while. And some before and afters, of my room, post spring clean.

Let me know, what you guy's think. I'd love to know if any of you have any helpful hints or tips, of how to get started. Whether it  be with meal idea's  or having a sort out and reorganise.

Spring Outings

Spring Has Arrived

Finally the snow has melted, and the sun has come out! [YES!!] It finally feels like, spring has sprung. All be it, in mid-April, but thanks for coming all the same.

I have been fortunate enough, to enjoy the nice weather that we've been having! ;]

So, we've been making the most of the little bit of sun shine, and with an added little thanks, to my shiny little car that I am now able to drive. (clever me!)

We have been able to enjoy some outings that we wouldn't usually have gone on. (we mostly went on walks.)

And if I'm 100 percent honest, every time, myself & the other half manage to get some time off together, there's usually a grey, wet cloud always hanging over our part of england for the whole week. (Trust me, I am not exaggerating.)

So I decided to write this little post, and include some of the pictures we've taken along the way. Mostly of ducks and water..   With the exception of my stunning daffodil, pictured above.
All these picture were taken with the use of mobile phone camera's.

Hard times will always reveal true, friends.

The moral of the story is...

Hey Guy's,

This weeks blog post, is a bit longer than usual. Hope you don't mind!
I initially started this blog, as a reason to keep, saying yes to things, new & old. And not to find a reason to put things off.

And then, just recently, life started throwing some rather unexpected shapes at me…

And I've found dealing with it a whole lot easier thanks to a great group of quirky individuals that I'm proud to call my chums/chummette's.

I am not gonna lie to you… I'm a planner. I like to preempt things. I can't help it, I just feel at ease if I can see it coming. Then, I can rationally plan ahead to resolve my upcoming problem.
But I know life doesn't work like that. It doesn't send me a Gmail saying; "coming you're way, spanner in the works." (I wish it did.)
& so when faced with something unexpected, it can be a bit of a shock to the system.
My brain freezes, and panic floods in. (Like a rabbit caught in headlights.)
And I just want to sit in the dark, which, I found the hard way, solves nothing!
But thanks to a wonderful bunch, of chummies, they have helped me keep a level head, & too keep moving forward.
And thanks to them, I have found it a whole lot easier to keep saying yes, to things, that I know, if not for them I would be in a different frame of mind. & I would probably be saying no to taking that first step into the unknown.
And, the moral of the story is,
"Hard times will always reveal true, friends." ;]

DIY, Pinterest project. Let's get crafty!

Hey Guy's,

This is it… The ever so slightly, later then planned Pinterest DIY, Blog post!

So for this post, I had so many things too choose from, it was hard. But I wanted something, that I could make and use/keep.
So I decided on a memory box of sorts.

So let's get started….

I picked all of these products up from Hobby craft, as I like to able to get everything under one roof, you know?

All you need is;

A box. (heart-shape optional)
2 packs of decopatch of your choice. (I got 2 because they were on offer.)
Some ribbon. (again optional.)
Some standard craft PVA glue.
2 sheets of felt for the lining. (Colour optional I chose cream.)
A paint brush.
A pair of scissors.

Step 1;
In my book anyway, was to line the outside, of the box with the decopatch. I chose to use decopatch, because I had herd some really good things about it, and wanted to give it a go!
All you have to do, using the paint brush, brush the glue round the outside of the box.
And then gently place the decopatch on top of the wet glue. Do this until the outside is covered.

It should look something like this.

While the outside of the box is drying. We did the same to the lid.

Leave them to dry for 30 minutes, or so.

Then draw round the outside of the box on to the felt for the lining. After I cut them out, I placed them inside to make sure they fit, before gluing them down.
Repeat the process for the lid.

After lining the boxes I decided the inside looked a little bare, so I decided to decorate the inside too. My one suggestion, if you wanted to paint the inside, do it before you line the bottom.

Ta-da! Finished Box! I added a little ribbon on the top of the lid. But you can add whatever you like!

Hope you guys like getting crafty! I would love to see, some of your crafty projects.

I just want to say, I haven't forgotten about you, in the slightest.
And my DIY Pinterest project, is under- way and shall be completed and uploaded by Thursday, I PROMISE!

I have been ever so slightly waylaid by life in general. But I don't want this post to be a super down or anything, I just wanted to give you a little update.

It's just with work, and other family matters to attend to, unfortunately my blog has had to take a tiny bit of a back seat. AND on top of that, as of Easter Sunday,
(I hope you all had a fun choccy filled day!) As a gift from my loving boyfriend, he has given me the worst cold.
Leaving me, feeling all blocked up and unable to hear very well. Generally I've just been feeling, pants and crusty! Bluh..!

But today the sun is shining-ish, and thanks to the miracle of vicks, my nose and head feels a little clearer.

And today, I have all intention, of stepping into this spring like sun shine, with my jewelled aviators and mint plimsolls all courtesy of Primark, ;} and making the best of today.

Have a good weekend guys x
